Strands of Trust

Strands of Trust

Trust
stretched and stretched
until it snaps
leaving dangling ends
broken and useless

Trust
fragile at best
a thin thread
unable to stretch
anticipating failure

Trust
a fishing line
stronger now
hoping just a little
for something better

Trust
a retractable cable
able to withstand
jolts and loads
able to extend, or not
